Up & Running With THREE New Songs!!!

Yes! You read that right! I've got 3 new songs to share!

But before I get into that, I would like to apologize for the wait. I have been swamped with tons of work lately! Not to mention, I've been lazy too. A combination that is certainly lethal to any blog.

Anyway, after the long wait, I've succeeded in recording and uploading 3 new songs. The first one, Forevermore, is in fact my very first song composed using Guitar Pro 5. Therefore, if you observe the drums and guitar, you'll find that they are kinda messy. But hey, everybody has gotta start somewhere, right? I honestly feel blessed that God has given me such talents to compose and surprisingly, arrange music. Something of which, being a 5th grade pianist, have never been attempted by myself before.

Next is my very first rock song, I'm Gonna Praise & Worship You. Yes, my very first attempt in adding an electric guitar to the mix! I must admit, it wasn't easy and there are lots of room for improvement. Also, there is a singing version of it. *Warning* do not listen to the singing version unless you plan to get deaf by my horrible singing! But hey, have a listen and tell me what you think.

Lastly, is my latest song, The Reason. I have been struggling to complete this song for almost to 3 weeks. But thankfully, I have finally completed it!!! What a relieve! No lyrics at the moment though.

But I'm struggling at the moment... Anyway, I've just designed this cool header for the blog... but it's just a prototype kinda thingy... not finalized yet... here it is!

You Bet It Is!

Collhex, that's the title of a story i wrote when i was 15 years old. It's still freshly imprinted in my mind... oh, the day when i was aspiring to be a story writer... Even though i had no talent in writing stories and stuff. Oh yes, it's so clear, I can remember the time when I thought that nothing would ever stop me from attaining this dream of mine... and such is that dream that lasted for only a week!!!

I've never really struggled with my English before. From what i can remember, I was pretty damn good at it. I knew all those so-called 'Bombastic' words, which if slipped into a sentence would make it 'oh-so-pretty'! Unfortunately, to my disbelief, my vast knowledge of English has gone down the drain. And boy did it go fast!!! Ever since I started Medicine, I seem to have been engaged in this equilibrium whereby if i learned more medical jargon, my English would deteriorate in an inverse manner. Freaky huh? But it's so true...

Anyway, enough of that. Here's an experimental story I wrote, which never made pass Chapter 1! I know, it's a sad sad thing that I only managed to complete one chapter. So anyway, if you're bored and would like to fill your time with something totally unfruitful to your life... here's a short, unfinished, and one of my favourite work! Enjoy...

COLLHEX
(Rebirth of the Shadows)

It was the birth of night. Shadows had choked the twilight sky and engulfed the world in sheer darkness. Now the sky was an inky void that stretched itself into the timeless universe. Clusters of stars flooded the night sky like tiny lightning bugs; some peeking out through particles of the gloomy clouds that hovered low over the east horizon. Indeed, just like any other day, the night was eerie and uneventful. The sounds of footsteps and murmurs that scarcely echoed throughout the air would often break the silence that sought an eternity

The world was now at a rest, the farmers, tax collectors, miners and even traders that were the preponderance in the town had returned to their dwelling places to savour the rest of their day with their family.

Those who had none would either be asleep or out having fun at inns or night bars. It was at the night bars where there would be lots of drinking and women to keep their night wild and joyous, relieving them from their days' failures.

While the enjoyment carried on incessantly inside the bars, there were beggars and homeless men and women littering the streets that were now uninviting to many. Penniless and hungry; they were known to carry out almost anything just to prolong their withering lives. Their souls were assailed with fear and despair, knowing that the end of their lives have been foreknown to be drawing perilously close. But some of them refused to accept their fate, believing that there was still a spark of hope waiting to be revived.

Most of the rich had houses that were pasted with soft bricks and wooden stamps. The poorer dwellers, however, had only shacks made out of brushes and twigs. While the rich enjoyed all the luxuries that they could ever dream of, the poor suffered immensely from a low resource of rations.

The children of the poor were always sick and starving, the men had to endure excruciating work only to be paid poorly and the women had no choice but to acquire riches as prostitutes. It was truly a horrible life, but it was bearable, considering those who died surviving out on the streets.

The silvery beam of the moon shone softly onto the streets that stood in a solitary murk. There was however an arrangement of torches placed all over the town that had illuminated small radiuses of the darkness from the streets. The streets were always lit up to prevent any unwanted incident. But however safe it might seem to be, it was never safe.

Thievery was a major concern to the villagers of Collhex. Thieves who called themselves ‘The Rapacious’ haunted the streets like shadows in the dark, preying on women who were fatuous enough to set themselves onto the streets and travelers from afar who were unaware of its dangers. Sometimes, the unlucky ones would be stripped off of their clothes and dragged into the dark alleys to be ruthlessly raped and killed. Those who heard the screams of pain and agony would not dare get involved, and those who did would immediately find themselves dead before the next sunrise. It had been this way for years, and it will be this way for as long as fear clenched onto the souls of the villagers.

In the midst of the town, a night fog that was thick and ominous had blanketed the lower parts of the town where the poor abided. Already, the fog indicated signs of persistency. It was gradually rising to devour the entire town as well. This would instantly trigger an unwanted wave of fear throughout the town and put every standing guard on ample vigilance.

Kane Accra stood atop the roof of the clock tower that arose to the height of the town. At that point, a mass of darkness covered his entire body; even the bright glare of the moon couldn't pierce its gloom. Everything that happened in the town, the bloodshed, the fear, the laughter and the disheartenment that eddy in a perpetual loop was shone into his watchful eyes. His eyes were filled with veins that were caused by his outraging anger and hate. It was the hate of his body ensnared with torment and the hate of those who lived that kept a raveling menace in his mind.

His face was scarred to the most abhorrent condition; burned, torn, ripped apart, he was a walking dead anguished for as long as he breathed on the earth. Even his body that wore no clothes was rotting with death. Gory slime that emanated a pungent smell of rottenness gradually oozed out of tiny holes on his back that had swelled up like enormous bee stinks. The slime was extremely acidic and was one of his defenses against his evil adversaries. He looked like a reptile, with scaly skin and claws that pierced out of his fingers and toes. His body however was the size of an ordinary human being aside from his arms and legs that seemed longer than its usual length. It was impossible to distinguish his origin even if he is observed from every conceivable angle. Even with such unbearable conditions, he stood there strong and firm, able to move swifter than any living creature.

"How do you like this town?" A deep bone-cracking voice sounded out of the darkness like the tone of death.

Kane didn't move, nor did he even blink an eye. He thought the question was ludicrous.

"This'sh town disgust'sh me," he answered repulsively as his tongue hissed out of his mouth like a lizards'. "The'sh smell engorges'sh my body, that disgusting'sh smell of the living'ss."

"Do you know why you are here?" the voice spoke harshly into his mind.

"To protect this'sh pathetic soul'sh!" Kane gnashed furiously as he answered.

"Yes…you are right. These souls are important to us. They are our future. You are to protect them and to ensure that no harm is inflicted upon them," the voice explained tonelessly.

"What is'h to happen to this'h town?" he asked uninterestedly as he stared onto a puff of clouded smoke rising into the air. The smoke reminded him of a time when a plague called The Black Devourer had swallowed up the entire world. The whole world had turned into chaos as people tried everything they could to survive. Instantly killing anyone, friend or foe who was suspected to be infected by the disease.

His thoughts then returned to the smoke that he saw. It was invincible and nothing could stop it from spreading. Either wait for it to die off or search for the source and destroy it. In this situation, it was water that was needed, he thought.

"Sometimes… fire can only be stopped by fire, not water." The voice spoke as if it was reading his thoughts. "What you will face in these coming months will truly cast a blanket of horror over the villagers, and even you, so be prepared for the worst," and the voice slowly faded, echoing away into the night.

Kane inhaled as much of the foul air as he could into his lungs and then exhaled slowly, planning and considering the consequences of his next action.

Wallpapers For Your Desktop?

Ever wondered how cool some of your photos would be if they were enhanced? Well, I had enough of the 'wondering' bit and decided it's time to do something about it. So let me talk you through my attempt in creating cool wallpapers using none other than Adobe Photoshop.

Firstly, I needed to pick out photos of which i thought deserved a cool makeover. And after careful searching, I stumbled upon a cool photo...

Yes, this is Liverpool on a gloomy day. Where exactly in Liverpool? I don't remember, Why did i take a photo of the sky? I don't know... But the photo is pretty cool, isn't it?

All right, so now i have a photo to work on. But what should i do with it? What could i possibly do to make it 'wallpaper-worthy'? It's just a photo of the sky?!?! And it's not even a bright sunny day. It's a gloomy sky! How much more depressing do I wanna make it?

And then it hit me... why not just put a cool light effect somewhere? Make it as if the sun is peeking out through the clouds. Oh, and also, why not add some 'cheesy phrase' to make it look complete... Why not put, 'Life is Beautiful, Treasure It'... Oh my, that's some really deep stuff?! And it's cheesy too! That should work perfectly! And oh... yea yea! why not alter the colour of the sky with a tinge of purple? OOooo... it's looking good! It's looking really good now... WoooHooo!!!

So you've had a glimpse of how my mind works while I'm thinking. I know... I'm such a great thinker!!! Anyway, maybe there isn't much differences between the before and after photos. But hey, I feel that it's quite a cool wallpaper now. Tada! I've done it...

I've shown you guys how simple it is to enhance any of your scenic photos using Photoshop! Well, i didn't show you guys the technical bits... But I'm sure you have an idea now.

I must admit, my work isn't excellent but it simply proves that Photoshop is an amazing tool for enhancing your photos. So try it out if you haven't already. It'll be worth your while. Believe me...

'DEXTER' Anybody?

DEXTER???

Some of you might be wondering what do I mean by that? If you are from IMU, No, I'm not talking about Dexter Yow. This time, I'll be talking about a very unique 'new tv drama'. One of which i feel is probably the best 'new tv drama' of the year! Dexter!!!

It is very unfortunate that many people have not heard of this amazing show. I suppose the reason to it is because it's aired on 'Showtime', a very popular channel what airs many controversial shows... like 'The L Word', 'Weeds', 'Sleepers Cell' and many more... All of which touches on controversial issues that would normally not be shown on the tv. And this is the reason why I decided to promote this show. I doubt that the new tv show 'HEROES' need mentioning, since i would suppose most of you would have heard of it by now.

Anyway, back to 'Dexter'... What is this show about? In essence, it's about a forensics blood splatter expert called Dexter who has an innate homicidal urge. However, instead of allowing his urge to get the best of him, he was taught by his father (who understands his urge) to control them. So, instead of just killing anyone, he decided that he would only hunt down serial killers!!! Cool isn't it?! a Serial Killer killing Serial Killers?!!! Isn't that awesome!!! And the 'plot twist' in the show is just amazing! Also, every character is unique in their own way, giving the show a lot to offer in terms of its 'character-likeability'.

Time To Share My Work - Music!!!

Hello again everyone!

Just so you guys know... this blog nearly went to the grave... i was actually thinking of giving up on it. I was just too lazy to update it and all... But thankfully, I've decided to start doing something about it and stop procrastinating any further. So here's my first attempt to save this blog!

Where do i begin? Well, ever since i was a tiny little boy at the age of... probably... 13yo... I developed this interest in composing music... It was then that i first picked up a guitar and started learning all the basic chords! My dad was my 'sifu'! He was in a cool band in the 70's... calling themselves '50 Cents'... cool huh?! Anyway, I constantly get cool tunes playing in my head every now and then. And ever so often, I would record them down... So, right up to this point, I have composed around 30 songs... Most of which are Christian songs (mind you, this does not include songs i have written for my girlfriend, Su Chen!).

Anyway, have you guys ever heard of the program GUITAR PRO? It is simply the best composing software out there! Not only is it a program that allows you to practice and improve your guitar skills, but it also allows you to compose cool music! Furthermore, it has a built-in REAL SOUND ENGINE that makes your your composition sound close to the real thing!!! Seriously, no kidding! Why Big Bad Boring Blogger?

"Why not???"
...would be my response.

Firstly, 'Big Bad Boring Blogger' has a nice ring to it. If you try repeating it fast enough, I guarantee you'll have your tongue tied and it'll probably sound more like 'Bid Bag Bloring Bugger'. Don't believe me? Try it out for yourself!

Secondly, it implies that this blog is downright Boring. So how boring could it actually be? You might wonder. Well, that doesn't really matter. What matters most is that the title 'Big Bad Boring Blogger', actually feeds your curiosity into wondering just how bad and boring this blog really is. And, by doing so, draws you into checking it out?! See how amazingly intelligent my plan is?!! Are you bored yet?

Thirdly, I'm simply a guy that is horrible at thinking of cool titles. No really?! I really am a true example of a guy so boring that he can't even think of a cool title for his blog. But again, that's for you to judge. Oh, and ummm... I'm not boring, forget I ever mentioned that.

Anyway, down to business. Why did i create this blog? Well, let me just clear the air first. If you haven't already noticed, this blog is anything but boring. Well, maybe it is for now... since... there's like... ummm... nothing in it yet?... But anyway, back to my point... What if I created this blog for absolutely no reason at all? Hmmm... that would be... 'Boring', wouldn't it? What if I'm just so bored and lonely over Christmas that I decided to create a blog to see how interesting life could be after? Hmmm... that would be pathetic, wouldn't it? Well, it's in fact, neither...

Over the many years that I've lived on this earth (mind you, I'm not that old - only 22 at the moment), I have gained certain interests...that being music... graphic designing... poems... short stories... tv shows... and a whole lot more. So it came a day, in fact, it was only today (about 5 minutes ago)... that I thought, "Why not share my work with everyone?"... "Why not show everyone what sort of talent I have? if any...".

At the moment, i haven't really thought of what I will be sharing. But what I do know... is that I've got some artwork and music to share... what sorta artwork am I talking about? Well, just photoshop designs that I've created over the years for yearbooks, websites, wallpapers, etc. And what sorta music? Well, I must admit, I'm not exactly a great singer or composer. But, I do enjoy singing and composing songs. I have just recently discovered just how amazing GUITAR PRO 5 really is (even though I've had the program for many years now). And what I've been doing lately is making song arrangements (midi) with pre-existing songs that I had composed and recorded myself. So, these are the kind of things I'm planning to share...
